Commitment, Strength, Public Service

The NFBPA is a national organization representing over 2500 members and over 350 jurisdictions with 35 chapters across the United States. The organization includes city, state, county and federal  managers as well as professionals, educators, business people, students of public administration and allied disciplines. The Boston Chapter has been active since 1991. The Boston Chapter holds regular meetings with guest speakers between September and May at The Justice Resource Institute and Mass Housing in downtown Boston on topics related to professional and career development as well as community education and civic outreach.   In 2014 we have had guest speakers including John Barros, Chief of Economic Development for the City of Boston, Carol Copeland Thomas, Author and Speaker as well as, Donna Bivens, Project Manager for Union of Minority Neighborhoods.   Last year we also co-sponsored a Panel Discussion on Careers in Public Service at Mass Housing with MassASPA and presented Leadership in Public Service Awards to Carolyn Golden Hebsgaard, Executive Director of the Boston Lawyers Group and Michael A. Curry, President of the Boston NAACP!
